Happy New Year

Happy New Year to one and all. Australia's started 5hrs ago and I started my partying at hospital this noon. Nursing Sr. Jan on left is leaving today for a new post at St Rafael Hospice. I went along in my KPRC hat to wish her and all the staff in B1 Day unit all the best for 2011. Chocolate cake and Apple Juice! It was a good workout 27mls all told.

Pearson 150 Sportive - Sunday 22 May

This year I competed in the Pearson 150 (kms) and I plan to do it again in 2011. The entry list is now open for up to 1,000 riders and hopefully they will arrange for the fantastic weather we had this year to be cooler next year. They are also improving the signage and adding a few marshalls, which should mean that I will do the whole route, rather than go off course and do a reduced distance. The course starts at the Royal Marsden, as the purpose of the event is to raise money for the hosptial. The entry fee is therefore higher than the normal sportive and comes in at £25. The route goes via Merstham, Haywards Heath, Ditchling Beacon, Brighton, Dorking, Epsom Downs and back to Sutton.

Note that I have not signed up yet because the date of our Kingston to Worthing time trial has not yet been fixed and this could be one of the dates.

The Spring Onion Sportive 13 March - last few entries

This one will make your eyes water! 65 miles and 1400m of climbing! A pleasant but hard 4 hour ride taking in Leith Hill, Wisborough Green, Kirdford, Albury and Whitedown.

We have 6 riders signed up for this event on 13 March 2011, John, Nick, Richard, Ben, Stuart and me. I have just checked the organisers site to see that 389 riders have entered which leaves only 11 places remaining.

Dec 23rd American Supper

What a great evening thank you to everybody (over twenty people)who brought such an interesting variety of goodies, and the few newcomers to the clubroom i hope this will encourage more visits in the future

Saturday Morning Ride.

Walton on the Hill Weather Station minus 10 Deg.C last night. I did not make Horton Park this morning, now you know why! Lets hope some of the off-roaders had a good ride with lots of pictures??

AGM this thursday 8pm

Dont forget to come early to the AGM. We are in the end room which we can only access by going back outside and going to the end and in a back door. There will be a rush for drinks just before 8 when the meeting starts, so get in early! We will have the American supper the thur before Christmas 23rd Dec. Everyone welcome, bring something small for the table. Anything left over will be saved for the New Year Eve bash at Jake and Garys!! All cyclists and friends welcome! Bring food and Drink and Air Guitars as usual. Ray tried to buy an air guitar last year! MOre about that later.
