The Surrey Cycle Racing League evening races start next week.
This year there will be 5 separate series on offer for all categories.
New for 2007 is a Youth only series at Angmering Raceway. Angmering Raceway can be found off Water Lane just off the A280 in Angmering, West Sussex not far from the A27. Racing starts at 18:30 on Tuesday April 24th where there will be separate races for all youth categories subject to numbers. Racing will continue every Tuesday until August 24th.
Also new for 2007 is the Dunsfold Park-Atum 22 Series. Dunsfold Park can be found just off the A281 near Cranleigh in Surrey. Many riders will have ridden Dunsfold Park on a Sunday already, but this is the first time it has been used for an evening series. Dunsfold Park and Atum 22 are both sponsoring the series. Racing starts on April 24th and will run every Tuesday until August 14th. Times of start are 18:30 for youth riders and 19:00 for E/1/2/3/4 riders.
The agiskoviner.com Eelmore Series starts on May 2nd and will continue every Wednesday evening until August 29th with a break for one week when the Guildford Town Centre Races take place. Three races take place each week on this tight 1 mile circuit. The youths start first at 18:30. Elite, 1st and 2nd category riders go off at 19:00 closely followed by the 3rds and 4ths with the 2nd vets. Eelmore Driver Training Circuit is on the A323 between Fleet and Aldershot.
The traditional Thursday evening handicap races start on May 3rd at 19:15. These popular events will have a slightly reduced series of 11 events this year. These events are run on the road at various venues throughout Surrey and Sussex and are open to E/1/2/3/4 category riders.
One more new series for 2007 is the Mercedes-Benz World Series. There will be only 5 events in this series all taking place on Thursday evenings with the 1st event on May 31st. Racing for youths will start at 18:30 with racing for E/1/2/3/4 category riders starting at 19:00. Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands can be found near Weybridge in Surrey.
