Kingston to Worthing - route info 2

Not a pretty post here, but if you click each of the links there is a detailed image of our route, I was surprised by how much to the west the route actually goes:

Fanal pics on K > Worthing mjm

Andrew was also flying and as I panned him with camera he went from shade to light so quick the sun came into view from behond the tree leaving Andrew looking like he was in a Fog and I nearly "Mist" him!
After leaving Worthing, I drove to Hove parked the car and biked it to Lon/Bri finish where I met Tim for a beach bum lunch. These are the appropriate cards I got from my wild kids who I love to bits. I leave you all to guess which one is from who, Ness, Nat & Tim in order of their age!

As I final note I would like to congratulate Stuart Pearce for fastest ride, some 2 to 3mins outside Gary Dodds record set some years ago? Also Congrats to Michael Stains (ex SRCC) in his comeback year that was a fine ride and almost beat Stuart!
I have more photo's but I think you now have more than enough from me!! Frank put me down for 2010, that might finally be my "come-back" year!!

Kingston to Worthing - route info

From Mark: Thanks to all for a great day today. Here are the telemetry and the route view. The latter is a very big file, even after I compressed it. Blogger will take it, but I leave it to you to decide how you will handle it. The picture has been done in a bit of a rush - I'll do a fancier one when I've got time. '1' is the start and '2' is the finish

The stats from my program were 45.35 miles, 02:29:54 (Frank gave me 53, I think), rolling average 18,21, climb 1482.5 ft, maximum gradient 6.9% and 2154 calories.

Our mileage on the day was 109.93 - a very nice ride home in the sunshine.

Lisa's course profile from the pulse meter.

Spot where the traffic lights are at West Grinstead on both of the profiles!

Hmm, Mark's course map hasn't come out very well here, tomorrow I will put the original bigger image online somewhere else and link to it. Tonight: it has been a long day and I am struggling to keep my eyes open. Night, night.

Lisa
Mark & Margaret storming round on their superb, disk brake Tandem.

Finally a long lost soul, I am not sure who it is! (Iain Margery) I also have other phot's but I think enough is enough. Well done to Stuart Pearce for the winning time just 2 minutes outside Gary Dodd's 1hr. 49min record? Michael Stains was also very close to that record and a superb ride after his first season come-back from many years away from cycling! (Formerly one of SRCC best riders!)

More Kingston/Worthing

Jake digging in head down. At the end Cristal was to beat her by one minute but at 2hr. 11min Jake was to do her best time for 15years. Good tail wind.
Brian Powney storming round, just failing to beat 2hrs - well done!
Steve Hillier, probably doing the best ride of his life!
Simon, suffering somewhat and not on best form on the day!

Kingston to Worthing 21 June 09

A superb pair of "Tandemites" in low profiel and going like a train 10 miles out on the A24.

Jake being overtaken by the "AA". I didn't think she drank that much??
The Tandem crew slipping nicely around the island some 4mls to go.

When placing the 14 warning and direction sign’s out in the pouring rain, I got the impression there couldn’t possibly be a safe event. But, before the first rider started the sun came out, there was wall to wall blue and what proved to be a fairly fast morning. Well done to all those who rode.

Many thanks to Ron P. for retrieving the signs on the Crawley Leg.

There is a good chance of us wining the Inter Club shield if our 6 fastest riders compete.

At present there are road works on the course, but the contractors say work should be completed by tomorrow (Wednesday) otherwise a different course would have to be used. Watch this space.

Headquarters : Broadbridge Heath Village Hall.

Redmon numbers and our signing on sheet will be at H.Q.

G25/53 course details here: I will try to find details of the alternative course if necessary (Lisa)

Woking Criterium watch ITV4 Wed evening

The oldest swinger in Town takes the sprints points. Oh what bronzed legs he's got.
Overall winner on the night in his Nat Champs Jersey, who also lead his team into the leading team in series. He was going like a train at the end!
Cant remember what this team won but it must have been good
Finally Pam showing great interest in the old machinery of the VCC

Sotonia 10 - 30 May 2009

Duncan snuck off to ride the Sotonia 10 on Sat 30 May and did 24:59 which I believe is a pb.

Congrats, Duncan.

Can you keep us notified of what you do - I only caught your comment on shouting out numbers on the TT message board and then had to go search the results on the CTT site!
