Frank has just phoned me - he has been out to check on the state of play with the roadworks and although the roadworks themselves have just about been completed the cones will not be removed in time for us to race tonight, so Frank has made the decision to cancel the event now so that everyone can be informed and hopefully not turn out at Dorking tonight for no reason.
This decision is not taken lightly, or just on a whim due to 'elf and safety. There is a lot of goodwill with the locals at Holmwood and Surrey Police and selfishly running our event where the road is narrowed greatly will do nothing for our club, or the course which is made use of by large numbers of riders over the course of any given week.
As Club Secretary, I fully endorse Frank's decision.
There are a further two club 10s on our calendar for you all to compete in instead.
