VTTA Surrey/Sussex Annual Lunch 1st Feb Horsham

Above Ray also receiving his age related records, 10, 25 & 50 miles setting new records for an 88 yr old. Ray got many accolades from so many in cross-toasting and in speeches.

Below the KPRC contingent joined by Helen Bullimore an admirer of Ray along with son Josh. Brian Powney's dad Ron got a special mention by the Host Keith Wilkinson for his mile eating 24 hour distances in bygone years. Gethin Butler, son of Keith got a special mention of his long standing LeJog record of 44hrs. More Photo's to follow.

Pebble Hill - Betchworth - road re-opened

Pebble Hill Road mains replacement

Thursday 22 January

As Network Rail have now delayed their maintenance work at the Betchworth rail crossing scheduled for this weekend, Pebble Hill Road will be reopened at 5pm on Friday 23 January, two days earlier than we reported last week. 

This mains replacement works will now progress along the A25 for approximately 1.5 miles towards Dorking. Fortunately, the road is wide enough at this point for the majority of the works to be carried out without interrupting traffic flow. At the same time, our mains replacement work will continue in the fields adjacent to Pebble Hill Road which will include tunnelling under the railway line. 

We apologise in advance that we will have to close Pebble Hill Road once more around the end of March to decommission the old water main. We are in discussions with Surrey Highways about the timing and duration of this closure which we hope will take place during the Easter school holidays.  We will confirm the dates as soon as we can and publicise them through local community channels, the media and on our website www.waterplc.com/pebblehill

Saturday Faster Rides

Cancelled today due to the frost. Hope to start them up in Feb when back from Skiing. 10am prompt longer faster ride to 11s.

Sunday rides

Winter sundays rides start at 9.30 to avoid frost. No set destination as we play it by ear and who is out. They vary from 25 to50 miles depending on strength of rain. We hope to build up the rides this year and if we get enough out regularly we can do a set destination list. Horton country park Epsom.

New Years Eve Party

The Phoenix New Years Eve party is at Jake and Garys again. All members and partners welcome. Bring food and drink and dancing shoes for later. 7.30 till 3ish.  Room in garage for bikes and locked side gate for overflow. Hope to do the Pete picture board game to break the ice at 9pm then onto the food. Then music 11onwards. Feel free to leave early or arrive late! Email me for address if you dont know it. Anything that needs warming up your in charge!

Faster sat rides

I propose meeting at 10 to 10 to leave at 10 on the dot for longer faster rides to 11s starting this sat. Will see how it goes. Garcons farm this week. Come along for the ride!
